We have arrived at Armaceo de Pera

Well, we have been here for almost three weeks and I am only now figuring out how to use the blog. Our apartment is sparkling and huge. The beaches are awesome and weather has been spectacular. We hike the cliffs along the beaches and enjoy the sunshine. It has been warm enough to swim, but it hasn't happened yet.

New digital frame for Christmas

For Christmas, I got two digital photo frames. Both of the boys and their wife and girlfriend got us the same gift. One will go to the cottage with pix of our friends from BG, and the other will stay here. I finally figured out how to download pix to the frame today, and have been enjoying the show all day. We visited both of Frank's sisters today and Suze gave me a bottle of Two Buck Chuck wine, which is now called Three Buck Chuck. Can't wait to try it. Anyway, the count down is on for our trip to Portugal and Spain. Can't wait. Pictures will follow.

A sunshiney day

Steve's birthday and the sun is shining brightly. A little cooler today, only 38 degrees, but the ground is no longer frozen and I was able to go out into the garden and plant the bulbs that we did not get planted last fall. It remains to be seen as to whether or not they will survive the late planting. Anyone ever tried it?

It's Steve's birthday tomorrow

A special day tomorrow-Steve, our eldest son, has a birthday. I'm not sure we will get to see him on his birthday, but some time this week we are taking him and his wife out to dinner to celebrate. He has been working hard at a new position in his job, and travels quite a bit. I do hope he gets to enjoy the day. Me, I'm off to lunch soon with my retired friends from work. We meet once a month and enjoy hearing what is happening with each of us. The oddest weather for Michigan today. It was 61 degrees yesterday-Wow how strange is that! Today it's in the 50's with cold weather due by tomorrow. Weather man says we could have a big dumping of snow by Friday. Think it's time to travel.

Portugal is so affordable in winter.

During our Michigan winters it is so nice to fly off to Portugal for a month or so. This year will be the fifth winter we have spent along the Algarve. We fly out of Toronto direct to Faro airport. Take a look at some of these pix of this southern area of Portugal.
